In 1995 Drs. Edna and Clifford Lee, wife and husband native San Franciscans, started Invision Optometry at its present location in the Pacific Heights district of San Francisco. From inception, patient and customer care has been paramount.  We understand that delivery of an experience is part of the finished product. It is also important to offer something unique. We’ve made a great effort to support independent designers by fostering relationships with them and their representatives. There’s a spark in our clientele’s eyes when they browse and try pieces on from our unique collections. We offer a diverse array of pieces that span from those designed locally, to other parts of the world.  

A beautiful space located in a historic building with 18 foot ceilings and natural light showcases the eyewear collections. Since 1999, works from local independent artists adorn the walls.

Invision Optometry celebrates individuality of our patients, staff, and eyewear collections. We enjoy customizing the patient and customer experience with unique solutions through collaboration of the patient, doctor and opticians, all with equal voice. With this ethos, we have built long lasting relationships with our patients and customers of all ages from infancy to 100 years, some spanning multiple generations. We have seen patients from toddlerhood to parenthood!  Some patients have moved out of state or country, yet continue their eyecare with us when they come back to visit.

A cornerstone of our business is technology. We utilize state of the art ophthalmic diagnostic equipment in our exams to treat disorders of the eye, including electronic analysis of refraction and digital imaging for diagnosis and development of treatment plans.

Our in-house lab has state-of-the-art finishing equipment, but it is the trained opticians who make the decisions regarding materials, assembly and aesthetics of the ophthalmic optics. Invision Optometry boasts an international corps of trained opticians with twelve languages spoken and decades of technical experience. Our team includes an optician trained in the Old World 40 years ago, a frame stylist with decades of couture retail experience, a jewelry maker with a penchant for eclectic retail display, and a buyer with a quarter century of optical experience and a keen sense of forward fashion.

We use social media to connect with our clients and patients beyond their appointments and in-office visits. We like to involve them in our social media campaigns and have enthusiastic participation! Some of our followers have called us shortly after seeing our posts of our frames in their creative displays and purchased on the spot! It’s still fairly new terrain to navigate and we’re constantly experimenting. One thing is certain – people love to feel celebrated and acknowledged. Social media is helping us achieve that virtual and real connection beyond their appointment.

From our humble beginnings to now, we’ve incorporated unique elements that make us stand out from the rest: unique collections, inventive displays, in-house lab and state-of-the-art eyecare. A family-owned, family practice. We are #InvisionSF.
